In a shocking case of risking life for social media fame, a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district filmed himself lying on railway tracks while a train passed over him—just to shoot an Instagram reel.

Identified as Ranjit Chaurasia, a resident of Hasanganj in Unnao, the man pulled off the dangerous stunt near Kusumbhi railway station. In the viral video, Chaurasia is seen calmly lying between the tracks as a train speeds over him. Moments later, he casually gets up and continues walking along the tracks, seemingly unaffected by the life-threatening act he had just survived.

However, the reel didn’t just catch the attention of netizens—it also reached the Government Railway Police (GRP), who swiftly tracked Chaurasia down and took him into custody.

This incident adds to a growing list of social media stunts that have gone too far. Earlier this year, a vlogger faced massive criticism for capturing a toddler seated at the edge of a rooftop while the mother held the child with just one hand. In another instance, a content creator in Gurugram was seen sitting on the bonnet of a moving car, leading to police action against him and his friends.

While such stunts often aim for viral fame, authorities have warned that the consequences—both legal and life-threatening—are far too real.
