IPL 2025: Rajat Patidar Praises Bowlers After RCB’s Commanding Win Over DC

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their winning run in IPL 2025. They defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. As a result, RCB climbed to the top of the points table.

After the match, captain Rajat Patidar praised the bowlers for their outstanding performance. Speaking at the post-match presentation, he said, “It was a total team performance. The way the bowlers executed their plans was nice to see. As I said earlier, we are not a team who are looking at the venues. We are looking to play good cricket. Chasing gives a lot of clarity about the wicket, the bowling and the score, and we could plan accordingly. It was a gettable target. The bowlers did a great job. All credit to all the bowlers. We were pretty much clear about the chasing. It feels great when you lead RCB. There are many great players. It is a great opportunity for me to learn.”

Early Wickets Put RCB Under Pressure

At the start, RCB struggled while chasing a target of 163 runs. They lost three wickets for just 26 runs. First, debutant Jacob Bethell scored 12 runs before getting out. Then, Devdutt Padikkal fell for a duck. Soon after, Rajat Patidar was run out for only 6 runs, putting RCB in deep trouble.

Kohli and Pandya Steady the Ship

However, Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya brought RCB back into the game. Together, they built a solid 119-run partnership. Kohli played a calm innings, scoring 51 runs from 47 balls with four boundaries. Meanwhile, Krunal Pandya remained unbeaten on 73 runs from 47 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes.

Thanks to their partnership, RCB reached 100 runs in 13.3 overs. They also managed to control the required run rate throughout the innings.

Tim David Seals the Win

Eventually, Dushmantha Chameera dismissed Kohli in the 18th over. Nevertheless, Tim David came in and finished the match in style. He smashed 19 runs from just five balls. Consequently, RCB chased down the target in 18.3 overs and celebrated another crucial victory.
