Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his re-election victory, describing him as a “Sanatana supporter” and admirer of India. Ramdev commended Trump’s “America First” stance, likening it to India’s emphasis on nationalism, and expressed optimism about a strengthened India-US relationship.

Speaking to the media, Ramdev remarked, “Donald Trump is a Sanatana supporter and loves India. The way we consider nationalism most important in India, Donald Trump’s ideology is also similar and for him, America is first. The world is now leading with the thought that the one who keeps their nation first will mark history. This new era of nationalism is welcome. We congratulate Trump and his ideology of America First is a win. There will be a new beginning of the relations between India and USA because of Trump.”

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Donald Trump on his re-election as President of the United States, along with the Republican Party’s success in the Congressional elections. PM Modi emphasized that Trump’s “spectacular and resounding victory” reflects the American public’s trust in his leadership and vision.

Both leaders reiterated the importance of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, aimed at benefitting the citizens of both countries and promoting global peace and stability.

They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including technology, defense, energy, and space.

Trump secured the required 270 electoral college votes to win the presidency, marking only the second time in U.S. history that a president has served two non-consecutive terms. The last was Grover Cleveland, who served as president in 1884 and 1892. Trump previously served as U.S. President from 2016 to 2020.
