Mayank Yadav Returns to LSG Squad After Long Injury Break

Injury-hit tearaway pace bowler Mayank Yadav has recovered from his injuries, and sources informed that he will return to the Lucknow Super Giants.Mayank Yadav, who has been out of commission for the LSG team since the beginning of the Indian Premier League, will rejoin the team on Tuesday, April 15.

Fitness and Approval from BCCI’s Centre of Excellence

Top sources said the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru cleared Mayank, who played only four games last season despite being retained at Rs 11 crore. He is ready to play, but the LSG coaching team will make the final call and closely monitor his fitness.

Injury Setbacks and Delayed Return for Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav was present at the CoE because of a lumbar stress injury. He was projected to regain fitness by the second week of April, but that timeline was pushed ahead due to an injury to his toe. Langer had commented on Mayank’s injury right at the beginning of the season and reported that the pacer hurt his toe when he kicked his bed in error.

Boost for LSG as Mayank Yadav Returns

Mayank’s return to the side will be a huge boost to the team, which has performed admirably in spite of its comparative lack of resources. Right at the beginning of the season, LSG recruited Shardul Thakur as a cover player, who has performed decently till now. Shardul, however, joined as a replacement for left-arm bowler Mohsin Khan.

LSG are now at the 4th position in the league, with a win rate of 4 from their six games. LSG face Chennai Super Kings on Monday, April 12, at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.
