Mumbai Indians are on a roll in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The five-time IPL champions, powered by strong performances from senior players like Rohit Sharma, who lost four of their first five matches, got their mojo back at the right moment and won four consecutive games. With 10 points from nine matches, MI are ready to take on Lucknow Super Giants in a crucial IPL 2025 match on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium. In their previous encounter this season, LSG emerged victorious by 12 runs.

Light-Hearted Moment at Practice for Rohit Sharma

Ahead of the upcoming clash against LSG, Mumbai Indians star opener Rohit Sharma gave his fans a hilarious moment. During the net practice, Rohit was seen sitting alongside LSG mentor Zaheer Khan. In that moment, LSG pacer Shardul Thakur entered the scene and was taunted by Rohit Sharma for coming late to the practice.

In a video uploaded by Mumbai Indians on X (previously Twitter), Rohit Sharma could be heard declaring, “Kya re hero, abhi aa raha hai, ghar ka team hai kya? (Hey, hero, you’re coming now? Is this your home team?)”

MI’s Last Outing: Dominating Sunrisers Hyderabad

MI will be arriving to this encounter following their win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Pursuing a subpar 143 for 8, thanks to Heinrich Klaasen efforts (71 from 44 balls) and his 99-run partnership with Abhinav Manohar (43 from 37 balls), Rohit Sharma was on song as he scored 70 from 46 balls to end the misery of the home side in 15.4 overs.

Bowling Excellence Sets Up Mumbai Indian’s Win

Earlier, pacemen Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult guided a sublime bowling display as Mumbai Indians stifled Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Chahar (2/12) and Boult (4/26) unsettled SRH during their initial spells as Pat Cummins’ team were left reeling at 13 for 4 in the fifth over before Heinrich Klaasen tried to slow down proceedings somewhat with his elegant half-ton.

Similar to MI, Rohit Sharma has also regained his rhythm with the bat. Besides his 70-run innings against SRH, he previously scored 76* runs off 45 against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings.
