IMD predicts: Delhi receives more showers in region

The national capital and surrounding districts experienced rain on Friday early in the morning. Following the rain, certain areas of the city experienced water-logging.

The next few days are expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall in regions of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, etc., according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Early on Thursday, Delhi-NCR experienced heavy rains that dropped the minimum temperature to 27.1 degrees Celsius.

IMD predicted a cloudy sky with mild to moderate rain and thundershowers for the city. Two days ahead of schedule, the monsoon arrived in the nation’s capital on Sunday, providing relief from the sweltering heat for Delhi residents.

According to the weather service in India, the monsoon, which is currently in its advanced stage, is active in the nation. Several states are anticipated to see significant rainfall over the next several days.

Naresh Kumar, senior scientist at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said, “Monsoon is in its advanced stage and is active. We can see clouds over Kokan, Goa, Central India, as well as Northeastern states.”
