Indian Cricketer Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) all-rounder, shared a heartfelt throwback video following his return to the franchise where he began his Indian Premier League (IPL) journey in 2015.
Pandya, reminiscing about his initial acquisition by the Mumbai Indians for INR 10 lakh at the auction, posted on X, evoking cherished memories. “This brings back so many wonderful memories. Mumbai, Wankhede, and Paltan It feels good to be back,” he conveyed.
The cricketer’s comeback heralds a reunion with the #OneFamily squad, including Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan, after his impactful debut for India in 2016 following a breakthrough with MI.
The five-time IPL champions extended a warm welcome to Pandya following the official announcement of his trade back to MI from the Gujarat Titans (GT), highlighting his pivotal role in GT’s commendable journey, securing a trophy in their inaugural season and finishing runners-up the following season.
During his time at GT, Pandya put in outstanding performances in 31 matches, scoring 833 runs at an average of 37.86 and taking 11 crucial wickets. His previous stint with MI, which lasted 92 matches from 2015 to 2021, saw him score 1,476 runs and take 42 wickets.
The return of the star player for IPL 2024 drew excitement from MI’s team owners, Nita and Akash Ambani. Nita M. Ambani expressed joy at Pandya’s homecoming, praising his evolution from a scouted talent to a national star. Akash Ambani emphasized Pandya’s balance and past success, anticipating even greater achievements in this second stint with the MI family.
