On Thursday night, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir were conducting a search of the homes of two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists when powerful explosions destroyed both properties. The suspects, Adil Hussain Thokar and Asif Sheikh, were the targets of the operation. Explosives planted inside their homes detonated during the search, causing significant damage and completely destroying the houses. Further search operation is ongoing.

Accused in Pahalgam Attack

Adil Hussain Thokar, hailing from Anantnag district in South Kashmir, is believed to have played a key role in planning and executing the Pahalgam terror attack that took place on Tuesday. Asif Sheikh, a resident of Tral in Pulwama district, is suspected of being involved in the conspiracy behind the attack, aiding in its planning.

Conflicting Reports on the Number of Destroyed Houses

While local authorities confirmed the destruction of Asif Sheikh’s house, according to report both Sheikh’s and Thokar’s houses were destroyed in the explosions. This incident highlights the dangerous tactics employed by terrorists, who often rig their homes with explosives to avoid arrest or to target security personnel during raids.
