BTS’ oldest member, Jin (Kim Seokjin), has been announced as Gucci’s new global brand ambassador. This exciting development follows his recent discharge from the military and adds to his growing list of achievements. Jin, who was an Olympic torchbearer for South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics and recently named a global ambassador for Maison FRED, is now representing the iconic luxury brand.
Gucci’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno, praised Jin’s selection, stating, “Jin’s warm and kind personality is truly magnetic, and his style is simply unique.” He further noted, “He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honoured to share this journey with him.”
The news follows months of speculation, sparked by Gucci sending gifts to Jin upon his military discharge. Fans, known as ARMY, had been speculating about a potential collaboration after these gifts were shared on social media.
Jin has previously showcased Gucci on several occasions, referring to the brand as “iconic” with “a long-standing heritage and modernity.” He expressed his excitement, saying, “It is meaningful and thrilling to be a part of such a house.”
In addition to his new role with Gucci, Jin is set to debut a new vlog series, RUN JIN, on August 13, 2024. He is also preparing to release a solo album, teasing fans with a post on Weverse where he hinted, “Jimin, after you, it’s me. I am going to sing too.” Jin’s solo project will follow Jimin’s recent release, Muse, marking another milestone in his post-military career.
