‘X’ Unveils Private Likes Feature: Users Can Like Posts Privately Without Fear Of Judgment!

Users of X will soon have the option to express their appreciation for posts on the social media platform privately, without others being notified. X, owned by Elon Musk, has announced that they will be making ‘Likes’ private this week to enhance user privacy.

“You will still be able to see posts you have liked (but others cannot),” stated the engineering team of X (formerly Twitter). However, users will have the ability to see who liked their own posts, and metrics like like count will remain visible under notifications.

Elon Musk mentioned on his X timeline the importance of allowing people to like posts without facing criticism. He emphasized the negative impact of public likes on user behavior and highlighted the upcoming feature’s benefits for privacy and content engagement. Director of Engineering at X, Haofei Wang, also mentioned the positive impact of liking posts on personalizing the user experience through the platform’s algorithm.
