In a tragic incident on Sunday morning in Mumbai’s Worli area, a BMW collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa. The luxury car, allegedly driven by Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, lost control on Annie Besant Road, causing Kaveri to fall onto the road. Despite efforts, she succumbed to her injuries upon arrival at the hospital. Her husband Pradip, who was also riding the two-wheeler, was discharged after receiving medical treatment.
Mihir Shah, aged 23, is currently missing, with reports indicating that he was driving the BMW during the incident. Rajrishi Bidawar, another occupant in the car, has been detained by police for further questioning.
Initial investigations suggest the duo was returning from a drive along Marine Drive before the accident occurred. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol consumption contributed to the crash and plan to conduct medical tests and collect blood samples as part of their inquiry.
The incident has prompted a case registered under multiple sections of the BNS and Motor Vehicle Act, based on statements provided by Pradeep Nakhawa. The seized BMW is now at the police station as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Meanwhile, Rajesh Shah, Mihir’s father and a prominent figure within the Shiv Sena, is also being questioned in connection with the incident.
As the search for Mihir Shah continues, the community in Worli and beyond awaits further developments in this tragic event, hoping for clarity and justice regarding the circumstances that led to Kaveri Nakhwa’s untimely demise.
