India vs South Africa T20 World Cup 2024 Final: What Is The Cut-Off Time If It Rains?

India and South Africa are set for an electrifying showdown in the T20 World Cup 2024 final at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on June 29 (Saturday), with both teams unbeaten so far in the tournament. However, the match is under threat from adverse weather conditions in Barbados.

Accuweather.com reports a 51% chance of rainfall during the match time, with potential thunderstorms also looming. Tropical storm Beryl is approaching the island, expected to impact the region by Sunday, raising concerns of match delays.

According to ICC rules, if the match begins by 9 PM IST, a full 40-over game will be played within a 60-minute extension limit. Afterward, overs will be reduced if necessary, with a minimum of 10 overs per side required to constitute a match. A buffer time of 190 minutes allows for a 10-overs per side game to commence until 11.10 PM IST; otherwise, the match will be abandoned.

Unlike the semi-final between India and England, the T20 World Cup final includes a reserve day. If rain disrupts play on June 29, the final will be rescheduled to June 30 at the same venue, with the same rain rules applying.

India enters the final after a commanding victory over England in the semi-final, winning by 68 runs in Princetown, Guyana. Meanwhile, South Africa secured their first-ever World Cup final berth by defeating Afghanistan by 9 wickets.

Cricket fans await eagerly as India aims to end their 11-year ICC trophy drought, while South Africa seeks their maiden T20 World Cup title in what promises to be a thrilling contest, weather permitting.
