Poisonous reports released today reveal the gruesome death of Liam Payne, who died on October 16 – three months ahead of his 31st birthday. The singer had reportedly ingested a cocktail of substances and fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel suite in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The substance has come into attention after its earlier connection to Sean “Diddy” Combs through a lawsuit.
DEA agent Bill Bordner explained pink cocaine, saying, “The first piece that we almost always see in pink, or pink cocaine, is ketamine – a dissociative drug, something that makes people feel like they’re detached from reality,” according to abc7news. Ketamine was also mentioned alongside Matthew Perry’s death last October, as this individual used it to treat depression. Bordner added, “The second component is psychedelics.”
Although called pink cocaine, it does not contain the actual active component, cocaine, but rather synthetic drugs such as ecstasy, methamphetamine, or benzodiazepines. It is often bright and colored with food coloring, sometimes flavored like strawberry, so users can swallow the pills or inhale them.
Street names include Tusi or Tuci, and it is both a stimulant and a depressant. It originated in Latin America as a party drug, and Bordner reported, “It is very, very cheap to make,” which allows the manufacturers to formulate it in whatever configuration an individual user would prefer.
As for reports revealing a pink variant of cocaine also linked to Liam Payne and Diddy, Dr. Brian Hurley, an addiction psychiatrist with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, added, “One of the things around mixtures like this is that people’s behavior might become unpredictable and they may do things they wouldn’t have otherwise done.
The alleged overdose of pink cocaine was said to have been his cause of death, which caused many to relate it with legal issues involving Diddy. Indeed, the pink cocaine was mentioned this year in a lawsuit filed by Rodney Jones, former music producer for Diddy. Jones alleged that the pop music mogul “made sure all employees from the butler, the chef to the housekeepers, to carry around a pouch or fanny pack of cocaine, GHB, ecstasy, marijuana gummies (100-250 mg’s each), and Tuci; a pink drug which is a combination of ecstasy and cocaine.”
According to ABC, toxicology tests proved that the drug triggers irrational behavior. The receptionist at the hotel said Payne was “trashing the whole room” for his three-night stay. More than that, TMZ.com reported that the singer was behaving “erratic” hours before he died from the fall.
