Appreciation is being shown for Dev Patel’s first feature film, ‘Monkey Man.’ Finally, a special shout-out has arrived. The film’s actor-director and other cast members received appreciation from global celebrity Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
Priyanka posted a snippet from Monkey Man on her Instagram Stories on Thursday.
She posted the video and wrote in the description, “Bravo #DevPatel. What an impressive debut!”
She also tagged other cast members, who are also making their Hollywood debuts with the movie: Sobhita Dhulipala, Pitobash, Makarand Deshpande, and Vinit Kumar Sharma.
‘Monkey Man’ debuted at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre before being released in the United States.
In this action-thriller, Dev Patel plays a young guy who sets out on a quest to find justice from the corrupt officials responsible for his mother’s death. But his revenge mission takes an unforeseen turn as he transforms into the eponymous ‘Monkey Man’, standing up for the weak and disadvantaged.
The film also stars Dev Patel, Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Makarand Deshpande, Ashwini Kalsekar, and others in addition to Sikandar Kher. Notably, Dev Patel serves as both producer and director in addition to being the movie’s lead.
In India, “Monkey Man” is expected to be released soon.
Meanwhile, Priyanka is preparing for her upcoming Hollywood picture, ‘Heads of State’.
Priyanka shared a teaser of the screenplay on Instagram. The page listed Harrison Query as the author and included the title of the movie. Priyanka’s name is watermarked on it as well. Sharing the image, she wrote, “And we’re back.” She will appear with John Cena and Idris Elba in “Heads of State.”
Priyanka recently revealed that she is working as a producer on a new movie called “Born Hungry,” a feature documentary directed by Barry Avrich.
Priyanka surprised her Instagram followers with this wonderful news by posting an article along with a message. Barry Avrich’s upcoming feature documentary now features Priyanka under the umbrella of Purple Pebble Pictures, her production company.
The message read, “Aligning with stories and filmmakers that have the ability to move the audience by having a unique point of view is what we always look for at @purplepebblepictures. @barryavrich22’s new feature documentary, Born Hungry is exactly that.” She added, “I was so moved by Sash’s incredible story of resilience and determination, and also that it is an amazing rendition of an extremely sensitive story, it was a no-brainer for us to collaborate. We cannot wait to share this story with you.”

‘Born Hungry’ is a dark film, according to Deadline, about a little Indian child who gets lost on trains, hundreds of miles away from home, and abandoned by his family. Celebrity chef Sash Simpson is returning to India with only vague memories in an attempt to find his family. Simpson lived on the streets of Chennai alone for a while before being adopted by a Canadian couple. Priyanka and Mary Rohlich, Head of TV and Film at Purple Pebble Pictures, will serve as producers.
“Born Hungry” had its world premiere at the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival and will have a screening on April 26 at the Toronto Hot Docs Film Festival.
She gave her voice in the upcoming Disneynature movie Tiger. The film, which will be available on Disney+ Hotstar, is about deciphering the complexities of the fascinating world of one of the most adored animals on Earth.
