Watch: UP Man Sleeps On Railway Track Under Umbrella As Train Approaches

A video has emerged showing a man sleeping on a live railway track in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, which has caught widespread attention online. In the footage shared on X, the man, who is holding an umbrella, is seen asleep on the track as a train approaches. Thanks to the quick actions of the loco pilot, the train halted just in time, preventing a potential tragedy.

The loco pilot, demonstrating humanity, stepped down from the train to wake the man and safely remove him from the track before continuing the journey. The incident occurred in the Mau Aimma area of Prayagraj under the Northern Railway Lucknow division, where the man failed to respond to honking.

The video, which has gone viral with over 780,000 views, sparked various reactions from users. Some suggested the man might have been intoxicated, while others called for improved railway safety measures. One comment humorously noted the man was “only trying to get his life on track.”

Several netizens praised the loco pilot’s actions, with comments such as, “My salute to such a loco pilot. The poor fellow stopped the train, then woke up the man, lifted him, and removed him from the track.”

This incident comes amid several railway accidents reported in India this year, including a recent derailment of the Sabarmati Express near Kanpur due to an “object placed on the track,” according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The Railway Protection Force had also arrested a YouTuber earlier for endangering safety by placing objects on railway tracks for publicity.
