In addition to his surprise performance, Coldplay also announced the Asia dates for their highly anticipated Music of the Spheres World Tour. The band will perform three shows at DY Patil Sports Stadium in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and a newly added date on January 21, 2025. Ticket sales opened at noon on Sunday, drawing massive traffic to the BookMyShow website and app as fans rushed to secure one of the 150,000 available tickets, each concert hosting 50,000 attendees. However, due to overwhelming demand, all tickets sold out within minutes.

Tour Promoting New Music

The Music of the Spheres World Tour is intended to promote Coldplay’s ninth and tenth studio albums, Music of the Spheres (2021) and Moon Music (2024). This tour marks a significant return to live performances for the band after they did not tour their 2019 album, Everyday Life, due to environmental concerns stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.
