Following a decisive 4-1 victory over Zimbabwe in the T20I series on Sunday, the Indian cricket team continued its tradition of honoring outstanding fielding performances in the dressing room. Despite a shaky start in the first Twenty20 International, the youthful Indian squad rallied to win four consecutive matches, capitalizing on the inexperienced Zimbabwean team’s fielding lapses and batting struggles.
On Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on their official social media handle, showcasing the fielding medal ceremony. VVS Laxman, the coach for the tour, invited fielding coach Subhadeep Ghosh to present the medals. Ghosh began by sharing a motivating video message from former fielding coach T Dilip, encouraging the Indian cricketers to strive for excellence in their fielding efforts.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Best Fielder award to Rinku Singh, who received the medal from VVS Laxman. Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi assisted Rinku by providing a stool for him to stand on while delivering his acceptance speech.
Rinku expressed his gratitude, saying, “First of all, it’s God’s plan. I felt very nice playing with everyone. This is my fourth or fifth series, so it’s very special. I enjoy fielding more than batting and I love running a lot. My body doesn’t open up if I don’t sprint.”
Looking ahead, Team India prepares for their next challenge against Sri Lanka away from home, featuring three T20Is followed by three ODIs.
