Walmart Heiress Alice Walton Regains Title Of World’s Richest Woman: Report

In a remarkable comeback, Walmart heiress Alice Walton has regained her position as the world’s richest woman, according to a Forbes report earlier this month. Walton, 74, now holds a net worth of approximately $89.1 billion, surpassing L’Oréal’s Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, who has $88.4 billion. This title exchange marks another chapter in the ongoing rivalry between the two heiresses. Meyers first claimed the top spot in 2019, but Walton unseated her the following year.

Previous Rivalry

In 2023, Julia Koch of Koch Industries briefly interrupted the Walton-Meyers rivalry, pushing Walton to third place. However, Walton has now surged back to reclaim her top position.

The Walton Family’s Wealth

The Walton family continues to lead in global wealth rankings, with Alice’s brothers, Jim and Rob Walton, also notable figures. Jim Walton, 76, has a substantial net worth of $102.6 billion, while Rob Walton, 79, holds $100.4 billion. Together, the Walton siblings have seen their collective wealth rise by $30 billion, bringing their total fortune to over $350 billion.

Elon Musk Remains the World’s Richest

Despite Alice Walton’s resurgence as the wealthiest woman, Elon Musk retains the title of the world’s richest person. According to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List, Musk’s net worth is currently $251.5 billion. The entrepreneur is renowned for founding SpaceX, co-founding PayPal, and leading Neuralink and The Boring Company. Musk also owns the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
