Bengaluru Police File FIR Against Virat Kohli-Owned Pub for Operating Beyond Permissible Hours

The Bengaluru Police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against One8 Commune Pub, owned by star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, for operating beyond permissible hours. Located on Kasturba Road in the MG Road area of Bengaluru, the pub was found open until 1:20 AM on the night of July 6, exceeding the allowed closing time.

Night patrol staff were alerted to the violation, and upon inspection, police found customers still on the premises. The unauthorized extension of business hours led to the police action. Authorities stated that the pub’s late-night activities violated local regulations, prompting the Cubbon Park Police Station to file a formal FIR against the establishment.

“We have booked around 3-4 pubs for running late till 1:30 AM last night. We received complaints of loud music being played. Pubs were allowed to remain open only till 1 AM and not beyond that,” ANI quoted DCP Central as saying.

Kohli established One8 Commune, a chain of restaurant bars known for their modern and sophisticated ambiance, catering to a diverse age range. This venture marked his inaugural foray into the food and beverage industry, with the first outlet launching in 2017.

Meanwhile, Kohli’s Instagram post has garnered over 21 million likes and became India’s most-liked picture on the platform. After India emerged victorious in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, the star cricketer shared pictures of him posing with the trophy. This post has now become the most-liked post in India and in Asia.

He had captioned the pics: “Couldn’t have dreamt of a better day than this. God is great and I bow my head in gratitude. We finally did it 🇮🇳❤️🇮🇳❤️ jai hind.”

However, the cricketer had struggled through the World Cup with the bat before coming up with a superb performance in the final against South Africa, where the Men in Blue pulled off a miraculous victory from the jaws of defeat by seven runs.
