In a chilling incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, a young man named Amit, also known as Mikki, lost his life after being bitten multiple times by a snake while asleep. Shockingly, the snake remained coiled beneath his lifeless body until morning.
The tragic event unfolded in Akbarpur Sadat village under the jurisdiction of Bahsuma police station. Amit, a labourer by profession and father of three, had returned home on Saturday night after work, had dinner, and went to bed as usual.
Around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, family members entered his room to wake him and were horrified to discover that he wasn’t moving. Despite several attempts to rouse him, there was no response. When they tried to shake him awake, they were stunned to see a snake sitting under his body.
Adding to the horror, the family noticed multiple snakebite marks on his body—ten in total. Neighbours rushed to the scene upon hearing the cries of his grieving family. A snake charmer from Mahmudpur Sikheda was called in, who eventually caught the snake and took it away.
According to the villagers, “Amit used to work as a labourer and had returned home as usual on Saturday night. No one could have imagined such a tragedy.”
The family immediately rushed Amit to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police reached the spot and have sent the body for post-mortem.
The village remains in shock, mourning the loss of a hardworking young man whose life was taken in such a harrowing way.
