Karnal/Pahalgam: In a deeply emotional and tragic turn of events, Lt. Vinay Narwal, a 26-year-old Indian Navy officer, was among those killed in the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on April 22. The tragedy comes just seven days after his wedding to Himanshi, leaving the entire nation in shock and grief.

The couple had gone to Pahalgam for a short vacation after their Switzerland trip was delayed due to visa issues. What was meant to be a romantic getaway turned into a nightmare.

Viral Last Video: A DDLJ Moment

Before the attack, Lt. Narwal shared a now-viral video of himself and Himanshi recreating the iconic Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol pose from the song Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jana Sanam from the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Filmed against the scenic mountain backdrop, the couple danced and laughed, completely unaware of the horror that would follow.

The video has since become a symbol of love lost too soon, widely shared on social media with an outpouring of heartbreak and tributes.

A Honeymoon That Turned Into Tragedy

On April 22, terrorists opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam’s Anantnag district, killing 26 people and injuring many others. Among them was Lt. Narwal. His wife Himanshi survived, only to return home with the mortal remains of her husband.

A photo of Himanshi sitting beside her husband’s body, draped in the national flag, has touched millions across India. Another video shows her saluting the coffin, sobbing inconsolably during the final farewell.

Final Journey With Full Honours

Lt. Narwal’s body was brought back to his native village in Karnal, Haryana, where his last rites were performed with full military honours. Hundreds of mourners, including family, friends, villagers, and fellow servicemen, gathered to pay their respects to the fallen hero.
