A shocking incident unfolded in Jhansi on Thursday morning when Rishiraj Jaiswal, a distraught father, allegedly shot himself to death over his daughter’s love marriage. The tragedy occurred under the limits of Jhansi road police station, near Naka Chandravadni. According to police reports, Jaiswal, angered by his daughter Harshita’s court marriage to Anand Prajapati, took his own life with a licensed gun.
The emotional toll of his daughter’s decision to marry her boyfriend without his approval appeared to have been too much for Jaiswal to handle. Sources revealed that Harshita had gone missing about 15 days ago, only to be found later in Indore, where she had been brought back to her family. However, following a court order, Harshita returned to her husband, Anand.

Rishiraj was reportedly home alone at the time of the incident, as his wife and son were not present. Upon discovering his body in a pool of blood, neighbors immediately alerted both the police and family members.
As the news of Jaiswal’s death spread, tempers flared among his relatives, leading to a violent confrontation. They allegedly dragged Gulab Prajapati, the father of Harshita’s husband, out of his home and viciously assaulted him in the street. A disturbing video of the incident quickly went viral on social media platforms like X and Instagram, causing further outrage.
Police have recovered the licensed gun used in the suicide and have sent Jaiswal’s body for postmortem. The case is currently under investigation. Meanwhile, authorities are working to identify those involved in the assault, with the viral video now being used as evidence in the case.
“This tragic incident has sparked both grief and anger,” a local police spokesperson said. Efforts are underway to ensure justice for all parties involved.
