Ordering food online has become a prevalent habit for many, but recent news about unsanitary food delivery is triggering concerns. A new episode includes a live worm discovered in a meal, which has gone viral on social media. The video, shared on Instagram, showcases a Bengaluru man finding the worm within a salad bowl. This incident has sparked a renewed conversation concerning food safety and the need for stricter hygiene protocols.

The viral video was posted by the Instagram handle @fitnesskapratik, where the man notes that his order from Fresh Menu, a cloud kitchen available on Zomato, consisted of four items, but he only got three. Upon inspection, one of the salad bowls was revealed to have a live worm. He commented, “After seeing this, I don’t want to open the other two,” and urged Zomato to carry out an investigation. He further stated, “Please, guys, try to avoid outside food, and if you have no other option, then please check the food properly before eating. ”

Following the viral incident, Fresh Menu quickly released an apology and assured that steps would be taken. They remarked, “Pratik, we are writing to extend our sincerest apologies for the incident you experienced with your recent order from FreshMenu. Discovering a live worm in your salad is completely intolerable, and we are profoundly sorry for this failure on our kitchen’s part. To address this issue, our team responded immediately upon learning of the incident. Our representatives visited you directly to understand your concerns and personally apologize. Additionally, we have identified the failure in our processes and have enacted strict disciplinary measures against the team involved to avert such occurrences in the future. Further training and increased inspections have also been integrated into our kitchens. ”

In reaction to the video, many internet users shared their own unpleasant experiences with the cloud kitchen and advised others to opt for home-cooked meals. One user remarked, “Yup. I stopped ordering from Fresh Menu when I found a plastic piece and, once, stale food inside. Never order from them again. ” Another humorously pointed out, “Fresh from the garden,” while a third remarked, “That’s added protein. ” A fourth user commented, “I have actually fallen sick multiple times because of food from FreshMenu, and they sell their food so cheap for a reason, I feel. ” One final user concluded, “Well, self-cooked food is always good food. “
