A shocking case of sexual harassment on CCTV in Bengaluru’s BTM Layout has outraged social media, and Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has reacted to it.
Minister Responds to Public Outrage
The minister, according to news agency ANI, stated, “Incidents like these tend to happen here and there in a big city like this. Whatever legal action needs to be taken will be done in accordance with the law. I have also instructed our commissioner to increase beat patrolling.”

Details of the Incident Caught on CCTV
The attack is said to have occurred early on April 3 at about 1.52 am, as indicated by the time stamp on the CCTV video. The now-viral video captures two women walking along a small alleyway when an unknown man, who appears to be following them, corners and gropes one of them before running away.
Aftermath of the Assault and FIR Filed
The two women are seen walking off, clearly traumatized by the attack, as per a Deccan Herald report, police are still unable to identify the victims and the accused in the case.
Meanwhile, the Suddaguntepalya police have filed an FIR on Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 74 (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 75 (sexual harassment), and 78 (stalking).
Separate Case: Badminton Coach Accused of Rape
In yet another case, a 30-year-old badminton coach in Bengaluru has been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old student on the promise of providing extra training sessions.
The exploitation was exposed after the teenage girl’s grandmother found an obscene picture on her phone, leading the police to start an investigation.
A case has been registered under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code.
