Vijaypat Singhania, who stepped down as chairman of the Raymond Group in 2015, has dismissed any speculation regarding reconciliation with his estranged son, Gautam Singhania, who currently heads the textile conglomerate.
A photograph shared by Gautam Singhania featuring his father last week ignited rumors of a reconciliation. The Instagram caption read, “Happy to have my father at home today and seek his blessings. Wishing you good health papa, always.”
However, Vijaypat Singhania clarified to India Today TV that his son had invited him home with an underlying agenda to capture the photo and convey a specific message to the media.
Mr. Singhania (senior) recounted that his son’s assistant contacted him on March 20 and extended the invitation. Despite his initial refusal, Gautam appeared on the screen and persuaded him to visit for coffee, to which he reluctantly agreed.
Shortly thereafter, he noticed his photo with Gautam circulating on the internet, falsely implying a reconciliation. He stressed that the invitation was not extended for reconciliation or to address their differences, raising doubts about the true motive behind it. “It is the first time in 10 years that I have ever entered JK House, and I don’t foresee doing so again,” he commented.

Vijaypat Singhania, aged 85, handed over leadership of the Raymond Group to Gautam in 2015 and resigned as chairman. However, their relationship soured over time. In 2018, he was also removed from his position as Raymond’s Chairman Emeritus.
