In a tragic incident at Delhi’s Tagore Garden Metro Station, a 60-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving metro train on Friday, October 11. The victim, identified as Chandraprakash Dabhar, was a retired employee of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and a resident of Subhash Nagar. The unfortunate event occurred on platform number 2, briefly affecting metro services, which were later restored.

Delhi Metro officials confirmed that the incident led to a temporary halt in services, but they were quickly resumed following the clearance of the station.

Victim Reportedly Suffered from Depression

According to reports, Chandraprakash Dabhar had been under considerable mental stress and battling depression for the past few months. CCTV footage from the station shows the moment when he jumped in front of the train, ending his life. A large crowd gathered at the station in shock as authorities arrived to manage the situation.

A video of the authorities removing the victim’s body has surfaced online, showing the distressing scene.

Police Investigation Underway

After receiving the information, police arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem at DDU Hospital. The victim’s family has been informed of the incident, and the police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the suicide. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
