In a major development related to US-China relations, both countries have recently conducted consultations on maritime affairs. As announced by the Chinese foreign ministry, both countries have agreed to uphold dialogue and manage risks on Tuesday.

Earlier on Friday, China declared, that both sides gave their views on the prevailing maritime situation.

After a lengthy discussion, they have agreed to uphold communication and not entertain any miscalculations or misunderstandings.

During the discussion, China discussed its serious concerns over United States’s alleged infringement in their waters and has also asked Washington to not interfere in disputes between China and its neighbours nor utilize the sea to allegedly control China.

In addition, the Chinese ministry also asked US to stop supporting Taiwan and its alleged independent forces.

Later, it has also requested US, to not to pick any sides in south China sea. This request comes around the time, when America has recently given an extension to security deal with Philippines in March 2024.

As a result, China is not too happy about this development.
