Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos personally opened the capsule door to welcome the crew. The first to exit was his fiancé, Lauren Sánchez, who received a warm hug from Bezos as she stepped out.

Perry Sings ‘What a Wonderful World’ After Seeing Earth from Space

During the flight, Katy Perry sang Louis Armstrong’s classic “What a Wonderful World” after witnessing the mesmerizing view of Earth from space. The impromptu performance took place while the crew was strapping in, deeply moved by the sight outside the capsule window.

Gayle King, a fellow crew member, recalled the moment fondly: “Katy Perry sang ‘What a Wonderful World’ upon seeing Earth from space,”

King shared, noting the serenity that enveloped the team during the flight.

A Journey Filled with Emotion and Reflection

Perry described the mission as spiritually transformative and emotionally uplifting.”I feel super-connected to love. This experience has shown me how loved you are until the day you launch,” she said.

The pop singer carried a daisy flower into space, which she described as a symbol of resilience.”It is a resilient flower and a reminder of our beautiful Earth,” Perry added.

Crew Members Share Impactful Reflections

Lauren Sánchez shared her emotional response to the experience, speaking of its powerful effect on the entire team. “I am so proud of this crew and the flight proudly changed us. I cannot put it into words, and we got to see the almost full Moon and the Earth looked so quiet,” she said.

Amanda Nguyen used the moment to share an empowering message: “I usually have nice words to say, but I want all survivors to know you can heal and no dream is too wild,” she stated, thanking the engineers who made their journey possible.

Kerianne Flynn reflected on the vastness of space and the awe-inspiring view of Earth.”It was the most incredible experience of my life to see such vast darkness and in it our planet and the Moon. Knowing that everyone is down on Earth looking at me, I hope this experience clears the path for everyone,” Flynn said.

Gayle King also emphasized the sense of peace they felt during the mission. “The best part of the flight was the oddly quiet and peacefulness of it and it reminds us to do better and be better. If everyone could experience that peace we felt, it was something different,” she noted.

A Symbolic End to a Milestone Mission

Katy Perry’s gesture of kissing the ground after landing symbolized not just relief but also appreciation for Earth and humanity. Her emotional performance and heartfelt expressions captured the profound impact of the journey on everyone aboard.

This Blue Origin mission stands as a landmark event in space history, not only for being the first all-women flight of the 21st century but also for the deeply personal experiences it delivered to its passengers.
