Preston Ordone, the 2-year-old TikTok sensation known as “Okay Baby,” tragically passed away after a car accident in Louisiana on April 24. The incident occurred when Preston was riding in a 2011 Ford F-150 with his parents, Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone. Both parents suffered serious injuries and remain hospitalized.
Discrepancy Over Car Seat Restraint
Following the fatal accident, the Louisiana State Police issued a report claiming Preston was not properly secured in his car seat. The police stated that while the two front-seat passengers were wearing seatbelts, Preston, seated in the rear, was “improperly restrained.” However, this claim has been disputed by Preston’s grandfather, Glen Norris.
Speaking from Lakeview Hospital, where Katelynn and Jaelan are recovering, Norris clarified that Preston was, in fact, properly secured in his car seat. He also provided further details about the incident, stating that the family was returning from a doctor’s appointment at the time of the crash. Preston’s sister, Paisley, was not in the vehicle during the accident.
Heartbreaking Message from the Family
In an emotional post shared on social media, Preston’s family broke the heartbreaking news to their followers. Describing the loss as “unreal,” they thanked their supporters for their love and prayers during this difficult time. “This is the hardest post we could possibly make,” the message read. “We hope that you can help our family in any way possible in this hard time.”

The family also shared details of the accident, revealing that the truck veered off the road and collided with a tree. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, Preston did not survive.
Family’s Ongoing Recovery
Katelynn and Jaelan continue to recover from their injuries. Katelynn has suffered multiple broken bones and a severe concussion but has begun walking again. Jaelan underwent emergency surgery to treat a leg injury, with rods and pins now in place. They remain at different hospitals as they heal.
Remembering Preston’s Impact
In their post, Preston’s family reflected on the impact the young boy had on their lives and the lives of others. “Preston had made a huge impact on all of you guys. He made people smile and laugh. In heaven right now, if there’s mud, he’s probably jumping and dancing in it,” they shared.
