UAE Launches $100M Relief Campaign for Lebanon

The UAE, under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has launched a philanthropic campaign in support of Lebanon, titled “The UAE Stands with Lebanon.” This campaign, initiated by Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, runs from October 8 to October 21, and aims to rally the UAE community—including individuals, institutions, and businesses—behind Lebanon during its ongoing humanitarian crisis.

This campaign follows the approval of an urgent relief package worth $100 million, ordered by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. As part of this initiative, six planes carrying 205 tonnes of essential supplies, including medical materials, food, and shelter equipment, were dispatched to Lebanon. The relief efforts are being carried out in partnership with global humanitarian organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Sheikh Theyab emphasized the UAE’s long-standing commitment to providing aid to those affected by conflicts and disasters, underlining that this humanitarian approach is central to the nation’s values. He highlighted the UAE’s consistent efforts to help countries in need, noting that the campaign reflects the deep fraternal ties between the UAE and Lebanon. Both the UAE’s leadership and its community—citizens and residents alike—are being called upon to actively participate in this relief effort, showcasing solidarity with the Lebanese people during this challenging period.
