Former President Donald Trump has accused Joe Biden and Kamala Harris of being responsible for the second assassination attempt on him. A suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, was arrested at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, while Trump was golfing. Routh, armed with an AK-47 and a GoPro camera, was plotting to kill Trump, according to authorities.

Trump: “Their Rhetoric is to Blame”

In an interview with Fox News, Trump claimed that the rhetoric of Biden and Harris inspired Routh’s actions. “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at,” Trump said. He argued that Biden and Harris often use language portraying him as a threat to democracy, which he believes motivated Routh. Trump emphasized, “They are the real threat, the enemy from within.”

Routh’s Social Media Posts Raise Concerns

Routh had previously posted politically charged comments on social media, echoing the language used by Biden and Harris. He wrote in April that “DEMOCRACY is on the ballot,” a phrase often repeated by Biden during his campaign. This connection, Trump suggested, highlights how political rhetoric can fuel violence.

Trump Thanks Law Enforcement for Their Protection

Following the foiled assassination attempt, Trump took to Truth Social to thank the Secret Service, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, and other law enforcement for their swift response. “The job done was absolutely outstanding,” Trump wrote. He also expressed gratitude for the concern and well-wishes he received from supporters.

This marks the second time Trump has been targeted, raising concerns over the security of high-profile political figures as tensions continue to rise.
