The Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory on Saturday informing commuters that repair work on the carriageway from IIT to Nehru Place has begun, affecting traffic movement on the stretch.
The carriageway from Nehru Place to IIT Delhi has also been opened for traffic movement, according to Delhi Police. The official Twitter account of the Delhi Traffic Police stated, “On the Chirag Delhi Flypast, the carriageway from Nehru Place to IIT has been opened for traffic movement. Now that repair work on the carriageway from IIT to Nehru Place has begun, traffic on this stretch is impacted “.
In this regard, the Delhi traffic police had previously issued a traffic advisory on March 9 stating that the Chirag Delhi Flypast on the Outer Ring Road will be closed for a total of 50 days beginning March 12, 2023, as the Public Works Department (PWD).
The repair work on each carriageway will take 25 days, according to the advisory. The advisory also specified the detour point for commuters from the Panchsheel flypast.
The advisory reads that, “Commuters heading towards Greater Kailash and Nehru Place from IIT Delhi on the outer ring road are advised to take a left turn from the Panchsheel flyover towards August Kranti Marg to go to the Ring Road and take a right turn from under Moolchand flyover towards Lala Lajpat Rai Marg to reach their destination.”
