Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced significant measures to support Agniveers, including a 10% reservation in state government jobs and interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh.
Implemented on June 14, 2022, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Agnipath scheme allows Agniveers to serve in the Indian Army for four years. “Our government will provide a 10% horizontal reservation for Agniveers in direct recruitment to positions such as Constable, Mining Guard, Forest Guard, Jail Warden, and SPO recruited by the state government,” said Saini.
Additionally, the state will offer a three-year relaxation in the maximum age limit for government posts in Groups B and C, with the first batch of Agniveers receiving a five-year relaxation. Furthermore, a 5% horizontal reservation in direct recruitment for civil posts in Group C and a 1% horizontal reservation in Group B will be provided.
Saini also mentioned that if Agniveers receive a salary exceeding Rs 30,000 per month from any industrial unit, the government will subsidize Rs 60,000 annually to that unit. These measures aim to provide better opportunities and support for them as they transition from military to civilian roles.
