Swifties Rally For Kamala: New Grassroots Boost For Harris' 2024 Bid

Several grassroots groups on social media have started campaigns to support Vice President Kamala Harris in her 2024 run for president. The newest group is called ‘Swifties For Kamala,’ made up of Taylor Swift fans who are backing Harris. However, Taylor Swift herself is not involved with this group.

Key Highlights

– Many grassroots groups are rallying behind Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign.
– ‘Swifties For Kamala’ is the latest group, consisting of Taylor Swift fans.
– Taylor Swift is not connected to the group.

The ‘Swifties For Kamala’ group gained momentum quickly after President Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 race. The group was started by 22-year-old Taylor Swift fan Emerald Medrano, who wanted fellow Swifties to help campaign for Harris and raise awareness about the importance of voting. Medrano urged fans to get involved and help push Democratic votes to prevent what they see as threats to democracy.

‘Swifties For Kamala’ is just one of many grassroots groups supporting Harris. Other groups include White Dudes For Harris, Deadbeats For Harris, Black Women for Harris, Disabled Voters for Harris, Cat Ladies for Harris, and Comics For Harris.

This wave of online support for Kamala Harris began the night Biden ended his re-election bid. After Biden endorsed Harris, several groups quickly organized fundraisers. For example, Black women raised $1 million in a Zoom call, and White women raised over $8.5 million within a day.
