Suryakumar Yadav’s heartwarming act during the fourth T20I against South Africa has won over social media. Leading India to a 3-1 series victory on November 15, Suryakumar displayed an endearing moment of respect at Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium. During the second innings, as India celebrated a wicket, he accidentally stepped on a Team India cap that had fallen. Realizing this, Suryakumar immediately picked up the cap, kissed it respectfully, and handed it to Rinku Singh before embracing his teammate.

A fan shared the clip on Instagram, captioning it, “Respect for Surya 100.” The post has since gone viral, with fans lauding the Indian skipper’s reverence for the cap. One admirer commented, “Surya is the most selfless captain, leading this young team with total understanding.” Another added, “He knows the hard work behind earning that cap.”

Suryakumar’s leadership was also evident in his selfless decision-making during the match. In the first innings, he promoted Tilak Varma up the order. Explaining the move, he said, “It was running in my mind that there has been a time when one man consistently batted at number three and did wonders for India… This was a perfect opportunity for a young guy… He just walked the talk.”

The gamble paid off as Tilak smashed an unbeaten 120 off 47 balls, helping India set a massive 283/1 and secure a dominant 135-run win, clinching the T20I series under Gautam Gambhir’s guidance.
