Suryakumar Yadav Humorous Quip ‘Bhai Khana Khaa Rahe Hain’ Lights Up Press Conference After Mistaken Identity

Star batsman Suryakumar Yadav showcased his prowess with the bat during India’s T20 World Cup Super 8 match against Afghanistan in Barbados, scoring a brisk 53 runs off just 28 balls. His innings, which included five fours and three sixes, played a crucial role in India setting a challenging total of 181-8 on a challenging batting track.

Despite being recognized as the current top-ranked T20I batsman in the world, Suryakumar Yadav encountered a light-hearted moment during a pre-match press conference when a journalist mistakenly referred to him as Mohammed Siraj. Taking the mix-up in stride, Suryakumar responded with humor, quipping, “Siraj toh nah hai… Siraj bhai khana khaa rahe hain” (Siraj is not here. He is having food), leaving everyone in the press box amused.

Reflecting on the match, Rohit Sharma highlighted India’s adaptation to the Barbados conditions, which they had experienced in previous T20 matches. He commended the team’s effort in posting 180 runs, emphasizing the contributions of both batsmen and bowlers in defending the total effectively.

“Everyone played their role perfectly, which is crucial for us,” Rohit Sharma remarked. He singled out Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya for batting deep when needed, while also praising Jasprit Bumrah’s consistency and ability to deliver under pressure.

Regarding the team’s strategy of using three spinners in the match, Rohit Sharma explained the decision was based on assessing the conditions and the opposition. Looking ahead, he indicated a readiness to adapt team composition depending on pitch conditions in future matches.
