Doctors in Gorakhpur were taken aback during a routine hernia surgery on a father of two when they unexpectedly discovered female reproductive organs inside his body. The patient, a 46-year-old man named Rajgir Mistri, had initially sought medical attention due to severe stomach pain.
As reported Mistri, who has two children, visited a doctor after experiencing persistent stomach discomfort. An ultrasound revealed a mass within his abdomen that was pressing against his internal organs, which was the cause of his hernia.
Mistri later attended a free hernia check-up camp, where Dr. Narendra Dev, a professor at BRD Medical College, confirmed that Mistri indeed had a hernia based on his medical reports.
What did the doctors discover?
Dr. Dev scheduled Mistri for surgery to address the hernia. However, during the operation, the medical team found that the mass causing the hernia was actually an underdeveloped uterus, along with an ovary situated nearby.
Dr. Dev explained to the media that Mistri does not display any female characteristics, noting that the presence of female reproductive organs is a congenital anomaly in his body. After the surgery, the patient is reportedly in good health and is recovering well.
