Released on June 13, 1997, “Border” depicted the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan War. The film featured an ensemble cast including Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, and Puneet Issar, with supporting roles from Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt, and Sharbani Mukherjee.

Being one of the highest-grossing films of 1997, the film’s popularity was boosted by its songs, written by Javed Akhtar and composed by Anu Malik. Tracks Sandese Aate Hain, Ae Jaate Hue Lamhon, and Mere Dushman, Mere Bhai continue to be popular.
