Indian Player Rohit Sharma Talks About The Most Nail-biting Moment Of T20 World Cup Final

Indian player Rohit Sharma has recently opened up about the most nail-biting moment of the T20 world cup final, which ultimately decided the fate of the match.

During the final match of T20 world cup, South Africa was in good form, as they needed just 30 runs from 30 deliveries with six wickets left.

Henrich Klassen was playing exceptionally, as he played series of shots against Indian bowlers. Those shots were such, that the ball spread in several parts of the stadium.

In these final seconds, the captain Rohit Sharma was without any thoughts. As per his admission, he was ‘completely blank that time’.

Talking about this nerve-inducing moment Sharma at an event in Dallas said, ‘Yes, I was completely blank.’

However, underscoring the importance of calm composure in these situations, Rohit Sharma said,

‘It’s very important for me to stay in the moment and focus on the job at hand. It was very important for all of us to stay calm and try to execute our plans.’

Afterward, the captain recalling the moment declared, that they didn’t panic and just focused on the job given at-hand.

‘When we were under immense pressure when South Africa needed 30 runs off 30 balls, the five overs that we bowled showed how calm we were. We just focused on our job, not thinking much about anything else. We didn’t panic; that was very good from our side.’ said Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile during the nail-biting final, India that time was indeed in a nerve-inducing situation, as it had mere 29 overs to defend the score in final five overs.

But exceptional Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah stepped to the occasion and received critical support from Hardik Pandya & Arshdeep Singh.

In that moment, Bumrah leaked only six runs in final overs and got the important wicket of Marco Jansen.

With Arshdeep Singh maintaining the pressure and Hardik Pandya inflicting a blow, by dismissing dangerous Klassen. And Suryakumar Yadav in an iconic catch dismissing settling David Miller.

The Match turned in India’s favour. Thus, securing a seven-run victory against proteas and becoming the champion of T20 world cup.
