According to officials, two people were murdered and two others were injured when their automobile collided with a divider and plunged into a 70-foot deep ditch along the banks of the Gon River in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur.
A speeding car travelling from Lucknow to Sitapur crashed with a divider and slid into the pit, according to officials. The collision gravely injured four persons, who were taken to a local hospital. Two of them died while undergoing treatment. The other two are claimed to be in critical condition, and the cause of the accident is said to be overspeeding.
Narendra Pratap Singh, ASP, Southern, stated that the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Kamlapur police station. A crane was used to lift the vehicle out of the pit.
According to intelligence, four passengers were headed towards Sitapur when their automobile lost control at the curve of the Gon river in front of Kuliganj Baba in the Kamlapur district and plunged into a 70-foot-deep pit after colliding with a barrier.
Locals noticed the accident and summoned an ambulance as well as the police. According to the police, local officers arrived on the scene and began the rescue operation.
According to authorities, all four were taken to a hospital, where two died during treatment. The other two were stated to be in critical condition and had been referred to Lucknow’s trauma centre. “We are looking into the accident further,” they stated.
