Sidharth Malhotra Revives Retro 70s Elegance at Shantnu & Nikhil’s Delhi Fashion Event

Last night’s fashion event at The Piano Man in Delhi was a vibrant homage to the 70s, as Sidharth Malhotra took to the runway for designers Shantnu & Nikhil. The evening was a glamorous celebration of nostalgia and style, with the designer duo unveiling their 2024 couture collection, inspired by the disco era’s bold prints and iconic fashion.

Sidharth Malhotra captivated the audience in a striking velvet blazer layered over a vintage ruffle shirt, embodying the essence of the 70s. His impromptu dance on stage added a memorable touch to the show. Among the attendees were Sidharth’s mother and brother, adding a personal touch to the event.

The runway showcased a stunning array of retro outfits. Men paraded in bell bottoms and ruffled shirts, while women dazzled in glittery gowns, disco dresses, and retro sunglasses, all reflecting the era’s timeless style. Shantnu & Nikhil skillfully blended luxurious fabrics like silk velvet and sequins with modern elements such as faux leather and bespoke Italian suiting, creating a fresh take on classic 70s fashion.

A standout feature of the collection was the reimagined Paisley motif, a signature of the designers. This season, the motif appeared in embroidered leather and other innovative forms, perfectly aligning with the collection’s retro theme.

The event kicked off with a memorable appearance by the legendary Zeenat Aman, who brought her timeless elegance to the stage. Actor-singer Saba Azad further enlivened the evening with a dynamic performance, while Imaad Shah, son of Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, played guitar in the background, enhancing the retro atmosphere of the night.
