Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar traveled to Delhi on Wednesday to hold discussions with the Congress high command regarding the expansion of the Karnataka Cabinet and the allocation of portfolios.
They held a meeting with Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal and General Secretary (in charge of Karnataka) Randeep Surjewala, which lasted late into the night and is expected to continue on Thursday.
According to reports, both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are working towards securing significant portfolios for their loyalists. Upon their arrival in Delhi, Shivakumar also had separate meetings with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal, and General Secretary (in charge of Karnataka) Randeep Surjewala to garner support and strategize the Cabinet expansion and portfolio allocation.
