In a shocking incident from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, an on-duty traffic constable was dragged on the bonnet of a speeding car for nearly 100 meters on Wednesday evening. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the car hitting the constable, Brijendra Singh, after he signaled the driver to slow down. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated, dragging the constable across the road.

The incident took place at Madhav Nagar intersection, where Brijendra Singh was stationed along with ASI Satishan Sudhakaran and Home Guard Rakesh. Around 5 p.m., a red car without a number plate approached from the AG Office bridge. When signaled to halt, the driver sped up, causing Brijendra to land on the car’s bonnet. The driver then continued driving for approximately 100 meters with the constable clinging to the vehicle.
The constable was eventually thrown off the car at Harishankar Puram intersection after a sharp turn, hitting his head on the ground and losing consciousness. Fortunately, his colleagues rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he regained consciousness within 10 minutes and did not suffer any serious injuries.
Following the incident, Gwalior SP Dharmveer Singh directed the police to register a case of reckless driving and obstruction of a government officer. A case has been filed at Jhansi Road Police Station, and efforts are underway to trace the driver.
This incident follows a similar case in Indore, where a Gwalior driver was involved in a comparable crime, raising concerns about traffic violations in the state.
