Vibhuti Arora, a participant on Season 3 of Shark Tank India and the Founder of House of Beauty, recently reflected on her experience on the show during a podcast conversation with Ayushman Pandita. Arora, who is known for her expertise in face yoga, expressed disappointment as she did not secure any investment from the ‘sharks’. She criticised their approach, mentioning that she struggled to hold back tears during her pitch.
Arora described the experience as more challenging than what was portrayed on television. She recounted feeling frustrated as one of the sharks, Vineeta, repeatedly criticized her packaging without allowing her to fully present her case. Arora emphasized that she approached the show seeking assistance as a bootstrapped entrepreneur, not as someone with everything already figured out.
During the podcast, Arora admitted feeling overwhelmed and wanting to escape the situation, expressing her reluctance to cry on national television. She recalled feeling like she was trapped in a cage and experienced a blackout after the shoot. Despite initially hoping for funding from the show, Arora realized she was merely defending herself without any prospects of investment.
Arora mentioned her admiration for Namita Thapar, the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, whom she regarded as her “dream shark”. She also expressed interest in collaborating with Peyush Bansal and Azhar Iqubal, praising Azhar’s humility and genuine approach.
Despite the challenges on Shark Tank India, Arora highlighted a positive impact on her sales, which increased from ₹45 lakh to nearly ₹1 crore after the episode aired. The video of her experience garnered significant attention on social media, with users echoing Arora’s sentiments and expressing their observations about the episode.
