Renukaswamy Murder Case: Was Darshan Served Biryani By Bengaluru Cops?

The delivery of chicken biryani boxes from a renowned Chickpet establishment to the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station created a stir among TV channels. The news about Kannada actor Darshan and his group enjoying a luxurious meal quickly spread across social media.

The police refuted claims that the biryani spread was intended for the actor and his associates. They clarified that a police kabaddi team, responsible for security in high-security situations, managed the security arrangements, and the biryani packets were for them.

However, police sources stated that feeding chicken biryani to an accused is an old trade secret that is now no longer in use. They added, “After eating biryani, particularly for dinner, the suspects would start dozing. But we won’t let them sleep and keep questioning them. After a few hours, unable to resist their urge to sleep, they tend to blurt out hidden facts.”

The Bengaluru police were probing the killing of Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor who was purportedly subjected to torment and killed over claims of harassing Pavithra Gowda, a close associate of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, on the internet.

He was subsequently apprehended for the homicide on Tuesday, June 11. The actor was detained at a hotel in Mysuru and then transported to Bengaluru by the local police.

The police had detained nine individuals for interrogation regarding the homicide. Following seven hours of thorough questioning, the Kamakshi Palya police presented Darshan and his companions in front of the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court. Subsequently, they were remanded to six days of police custody for ongoing investigation.
