Chandigarh: The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies at Panjab University conducted a National Level Online Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) on the theme ‘Assessment and Diagnosis of Specific Learning Disability.’
Dr. Md Saifur Rahman, Chairperson of the department, delivered the welcome note, emphasizing the need to recognize the potential for learning in every child and its manifestation in various aspects of academic and non-academic development. The resource persons included Dr. Krishan Kumar Sony, Prof. (Dr.) Navleen Kaur, and Mr. Nitin Raj from the Department of Community Education and Disability Studies.Dr. Sony discussed tools for identifying Learning Disabilities (LD) and strategies for educating LD students in inclusive settings. Prof. Navleen Kaur highlighted the role of assessment in educating Learning Disabled children in inclusive environments. Mr. Nitin Raj shared insights on the role of technology in assessing learning disabilities and presented a case study on a dyslexic child. Participants from various parts of India and the USA joined the program. Prof. Dazy Zarabi delivered the vote of thanks.

Chandigarh: Considering the forthcoming 4th Global Alumni Meet scheduled for December 23, 2023, and the visit of Jagdeep Dhankar, Vice President of India and Chancellor of Panjab University, the University has declared December 23, 2023, as a regular working day for all Teaching Departments, Centers, Institutes, and Administrative Offices located in Sector 14 and Sector 25 Campuses.
