Ravi Shankar Prasad, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, slammed “dynastic politics” on Wednesday, saying it is intrinsically undemocratic and undermines the talent entering a political party.
“The meaning of family dynasty is that a son or daughter of a leader will become the leader of the party,” the BJP MP stated at a press conference in the national capital. Not only will he become a leader, but he will also become a PM or CM contender, regardless of his abilities. The family rule is undemocratic and irresponsible by definition.”Prasad questioned Rahul Gandhi’s ability to run a country like India.
Ravi Shankar Prasad also commented on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Quit India’ tweet, which stated that if the country’s democratic fabric is to be preserved, the maladies of family dominance, corruption, and appeasement must leave.
