At the Singham Again trailer launch, Ranveer Singh shared a special connection his family has with the film, revealing that his wife, Deepika Padukone, was pregnant during its shoot. He affectionately referred to their child as “baby Simmba,” a nod to his character in the cop franchise. “Deepika is busy with the baby, so I came alone. My baby duties are at night. Along with the stars, you’ll see our baby Simmba because Deepika was pregnant while shooting,” Ranveer said, addressing the audience.
Ranveer also wished fans a Happy Diwali on behalf of his family, saying, “I wish you all a Happy Diwali on behalf of Lady Singham and baby Simmba. Please enjoy the movie in theatres with your family this Diwali,” to which the audience responded with loud cheers. The couple welcomed their daughter on September 8, 2024, confirmed through a heartfelt Instagram post that read, “Welcome Baby Girl! 8.9.2024.” Deepika later updated her Instagram bio to, “Feed. Burp. Sleep. Repeat.”
The Singham Again trailer, which features an ensemble cast including Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, and Akshay Kumar, hints at a modern-day adaptation of the Ramayana. Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Bajirao Singham, facing off against Arjun Kapoor, who plays the antagonist. Kareena Kapoor plays Singham’s wife, while Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar return as Simmba and Sooryavanshi, respectively.
The film also introduces Deepika Padukone as “Lady Singham” and marks Tiger Shroff’s debut in the Cop Universe as ACP Satya Pattnaik.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, Singham Again will be released in theatres this Diwali. It is expected to face a box-office clash with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The film is presented by Jio Studios in association with Rohit Shetty Picturez, Devgn Films, Reliance Entertainment, and Cinergy.
