Ranbir Kapoor recently opened up about the significant adjustments his wife, Alia Bhatt, has made in their marriage. Speaking on Nikhil Kamath’s YouTube podcast “People by WTF,” Ranbir shared how Alia consciously changed certain habits to make him feel more comfortable.
“She used to speak in a very loud tone,” Ranbir Kapoor said. “Growing up, my father’s loud voice always rattled me, so Alia made an effort to change that. It’s not easy to alter something you’ve done for 30 years. She’s someone who instinctively reacts when, for example, Raha falls down. Her reactions used to unsettle me, but she made changes to put me at ease. I hope I could say I’ve done something to ease her discomfort, but I don’t think I have yet.”
Ranbir also discussed his childhood trauma stemming from the frequent arguments between his late father, Rishi Kapoor, and mother, Neetu Kapoor. The loud tone of these arguments left a lasting impact on him.
Reflecting on his relationship with Alia, Ranbir expressed immense respect and admiration for her. “Alia was someone I met over the years, and I knew she was special. I respect her as an actor, an artist, a person, a daughter, and a sister. She makes me smile, and I love spending time with her, whether it’s at home or on holiday,” he added. He described Alia as an “overachiever,” “very passionate about work,” and “extremely intelligent.” He also noted that while her attention can be fragmented, he now feels he has her full attention.
The Journey of Ranbir and Alia
Ranbir and Alia’s relationship blossomed during the pre-production of Ayan Mukerji’s 2022 blockbuster fantasy film “Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.” The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in 2022 at their Mumbai residence. Later that year, they welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor.
In the upcoming year, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will reunite on screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Love & War.” Ranbir is also set to star in Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of the “Ramayana,” while Alia will be seen in “Jigra” and “Alpha.”
