Ram Navami, the joyous celebration of Lord Ram’s birth, falls on the ninth day of Chaitra Shukla Paksha. This year’s celebration on April 17th promises to be magnificent, commemorating Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya after almost five centuries.
Exquisite arrangements have been prepared for the festive celebrations. On this special occasion, Ram Lalla is dressed in clothes specially crafted by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, made from hand-spun khadi cotton. Each piece is embellished with gold and silver khadi hand block prints. Additionally, the Ram Lalla idol will be graced with a Surya Tilak during the splendid festivities.

The city of Ayodhya is pulsating with anticipation as it prepares to welcome an estimated 5 million devotees from all corners of the world. Both the district administration and the Uttar Pradesh government are fully engaged in meticulously organizing the logistics for the occasion.
In order to efficiently accommodate the anticipated influx of devotees, the temple has decided to extend its operating hours. Instead of the usual 14 hours, it will now remain open for 20 hours straight on April 16th, 17th, and 18th.
Items like phones and wallets are not allowed inside the temple area. Visitors should carry only cash for donations and are advised to store other personal items in their hotel or in lockers to facilitate a quicker visit.
Prasad offerings are free at the temple. Devotees’ contributions of fruits, flowers, and other items will be gathered beforehand and subsequently offered to the deity. For air travelers, airlines have announced special fares for Ram Navami, featuring discounted rates on flights to Ayodhya.
To guarantee that everyone has the opportunity to partake in the celebrations, the aarti at Ram Mandir will be broadcasted live by Prasar Bharati. Additionally, LED televisions will be set up at 100 different locations throughout Ayodhya for the public to watch.
Additional measures have been implemented to manage crowds and ensure comfort, such as extra queuing lines at the temple, shaded areas with tents, and availability of water and oral rehydration solutions to prevent dehydration. The anticipation for this year’s Ram Navami in Ayodhya is extraordinary, with devotees looking forward to the sacred festivities with great eagerness.
